Our Pro Bono Attorney Program recruits, trains, and supports volunteer attorneys who provide free guardian ad litem services to children who are under the jurisdiction of the Jackson County Family Court. To be contacted by one of the supervisors of the program, please complete the form below.

Requirements

16 hours of classroom CASA GAL training
12 hours of annual continued ed training to include 3 hours of GAL training
3 references of support
Missouri Bar License
Passing a background check

Responsibilities

Develop a relationship with your client
Represent your client in and out of the courtroom
Visit with your client at least once per month
Advocate for timely services, hearings, and permanency
Maintain a case file and electronic documentation
