Educational Opportunities

The National CASA Association standards require that active CASAs complete 12 hours of continuing education each year after completing the initial 30-hour training session. All of the below options must be pre-approved by Karrie Duke, please contact her for more information.

Local Workshops

Take a local workshop on a CASA-related topic. To Get Credit: Write a maximum, one-page summary of a workshop and your response to its content. Please include dates, trainer names and the length of your session.

College-Level Course Work

Take a college course that focuses on a CASA-related topic, like child development, family law or communications.

To Get Credit: Send a copy of your final semester grade card with the course description attached.

Self-Guided Options

For online resources, please visit the National CASA website. To Get Credit: Write a maximum one-page summary of the material and your response to its content. Please include the title of the material, the date and the type of material you read.

Watch a film that focuses on a CASA-related topic. To Get Credit: Write a maximum one-page summary of the show and your response to its content. Please include the date, the title and the length of the film.

Listen to a radio show that focuses on a CASA-related topic. To Get Credit: Write a maximum one-page summary of the show and your response to its content. Please include the date, guest names, the station name and the length of the show.

Read a book, magazine or newspaper article about a CASA-related topic. To Get Credit: Write a maximum one-page summary of the material and your response to its content. Please include the title of the material, the date and the type of material you read.
