Carnival for CASA 2009!
The 4th Annual Carnival for CASA took place on Saturday, September 12th from 11 AM – 4 PM at Paradise Park, 1021 NE Colbern Road, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This fun-filled event for kids of all ages helped support Jackson County CASA’s vital child advocacy services by raising 44,977 dollars!
62 volunteers helped the 448 guests in attendance enjoy this fun-filled day. Activities included face painting, balloon art, the foam factory, and much more! Thanks to our generous donors, 142 CASA kids and their guardians were also able to enjoy the day!
A special Thank You goes out to all of our sponsors and participants who helped to make our 4th annual event such a big success!

HARLEY DAVIDSON WINNER
Congratulations to Sarah Michale Nelson who won a brand new Harley Friday, July 24th at the KC Live area in the Power and Light District. Jackson County CASA staff and board members were on hand and sold over 600 tickets to hundreds of Harley Hoppin' Hopefuls.
We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to: Hero with BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) for his extraordinary efforts in making sure the Harley was picked up and delivered for the drawing; Central States Beverage employee, Jon Poteet who drew the winning ticket; Steve Mos, owner of Central States Beverage, for being instrumental in the coordination of this event with the Power and Light District authorities and extra kudos to Erin Mos, Jackson County CASA board member, who not only led the Harley Committee but also put in a good word for us with husband Steve!
Well over $10,000 was raised which will directly support the abused and neglected children that the staff and volunteers of Jackson County CASA are so dedicated to serving. Thanks to all who entered for a chance to win and to Sarah—safe driving to you!
