We are currently seeking a VISTA Volunteer Coordinator!

Position Title: VISTA Volunteer Coordinator

All applicants must apply online at https://my.americorps.gov/mp/login.do.  Click on “Register to Create a New Member/Alum Account”.  Complete the requested profile information.  Once you receive your account information via email, log into the MyAmeriCorps portal and use the navigation pane on the left to complete your application and reference information.  When your application is complete, click “Search Listings”.  Type “CASA” into the Program Name field (ignore all other fields) and click “Search”.  Click the listing to view program information.  Read the program information and click “Apply Now” at the bottom of the page. 

Note:  with the MyAmeriCorps system, you need to select the program you are applying for after you complete the general application, not before.

Position Summary:

To assist the Director of Volunteer Programs with the recruitment, training, and retention of new and current volunteers who will advocate for abused and neglected children in Jackson County Missouri.  This will be done by working closely with key staff members in the areas of Volunteer Services and Case Supervision. 

Essential Job Functions (listing most important first):

  • VISTA will develop and implement a short term recruitment plan, to include speaking engagements within three faith-based, and two corporate organizations.
  • VISTA will coordinate and facilitate in-service trainings, and volunteer appreciation events.
  • VISTA will adapt, or develop new marketing tools, specifically targeting volunteer recruitment.
  • VISTA will follow up with email and phone inquiries from potential volunteers.
  • VISTA will assist the Volunteer Director with data entry and maintenance of volunteer database.
  • VISTA will assist with all aspects of Jackson County CASA’s volunteer program.

Essential Job Requirements:

EDUCATION: College degree, or currently enrolled in a college program.

EXPERIENCE: Have a commitment to service and community. 

REQUIRED SKILLS: Computer skills a must.  Good verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to talk with people from all walks of life.  Ability to speak in front of small and large groups.

Salary Range: $10,000 annually
